Career Ladders

The Career Ladder project provides straight forward information about how to enter and advance in careers available right here in the Saginaw Valley.  By the reading the 4-page brochures  or watching the accompanying videos; students, unemployed adults, and job seekers can have a clear picture about job descriptions, wages, training advancement, working conditions, and job outlook of many high-demand occupations within our region.  The Saginaw County Business & Education Partnership provided or facilitated leadership in the creation, implementation, and expansion of this project.  The Career Ladder materials are being used by students in all 13 Saginaw County school districts and by all 6 Saginaw/Midland/Bay Michigan Works! centers.

Anyone interested in knowing about high demand occupations with internet access can utilize this important information.  What started out as a Vision 20/20 project for Saginaw County has grown to also include Arenac, Bay, Huron, Lapeer, Midland, Sanilac, and Tuscola counties.  Staff of the Saginaw County Business & Education Partnership has been asked to share information about the project at many state-wide meetings.  Other areas in the state are considering customizing the materials for their own use.

Over 100 occupations are highlighted and will be easily accessible through various websites within our region including:  Michigan Works!, Michigan Virtual University, the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Saginaw County Business & Education Partnership.
